With over 26 years of ministry experience, Gordon-Conwell MDiv student Akinyemi Lapinni has dedicated much of his life to serving the people of Nigeria. He has worked with church and prison ministries, founded nonprofits and business as mission companies, and participated in organizations that equip the church to address spiritual needs and teach job skills in communities. He desires to see people growing in relationship with God, and his life passion and calling are to “raise a generation of global change makers who will positively impact humanity.”

Akinyemi was recently appointed to the U.S. national executive council of the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship in America (FGBMF) as national assistant administrator after having served as a field representative in Nigeria. The organization’s goal is to reach men “not touched by current methods of evangelism.” The executive council is made up of eleven members who lead the U.S. portion of FGBMF by helping lay men of the church lead gospel-centered lives and evangelize other men in every sector of society.

Reflecting on how Gordon-Conwell has prepared him to serve in this new position with FGBMF, Akinyemi stated, “My MDiv studies at Gordon-Conwell are further building my capacity and preparing me well for ministry in the marketplace and workplace in any nation—through chaplaincy, lay ministry, or in my current nonprofit field.”
